You know in all the great movies? When the best friend finally tells the girl what the audience has always known, that he’s been in love with her all along? I can’t let you do this. It can’t go on any longer. I can’t sit here and watch you fall in love with somebody else when I’m already so in love with you. This is that moment, and Cas knows it.  All along he’s felt it too, but he’s been waiting.  Waiting for the go-ahead, to open the floodgates, and let the love that has been there all along pour out. It’s the pinnacle moment in a love story, when finally, finally, everyone admits it out loud.  But, although Cas might be ready, Dean is not. As Dean looks at Cas his reserve begins to crumble, and Dean knows he could never ask for so much, for someone to love him unconditionally when he will never deserve it.  So he backtracks, shakes off the “chick-flick” moment, and puts his walls up once again.  The moment is gone, and it’s a sucker-punch to the gut for Cas. One day Cas will say it, though. When the time is right. But for now he can only look away and hope that his thoughts are loud enough to be heard: Dean Winchester, you’ll always deserve to be loved.

oh god dean would though   try and inconspicuously dress up i mean   ‘oh this pressed suit and ironed shirt and shined shoes? we were on a case at this super fancy place   you’ve probably never heard of it.’   but really he’d just come from whatever motel they’d stopped over at   and then he goes out to meet cas and stands like mr. cool dude at the corner   hoping at once no one thinks they’re on a date because dean winchester doesn’t /date/   dean winchester picks up or strikes out and it’s never a two night deal   except when it comes to castiel it’s kind of been a 5 year deal and counting and still dean hasn’t made a move   until tonight of course   because he wore his favourite tie and he hopes cas will get to take it off him later   but more importantly he hopes later will turn into tomorrow will turn into next week   and fuck it all if cas has made him into a total sap after all of this   but he hopes they go on another date jsut like this next year   for some stupid  but awesome   anniversary   otp: the greatest love story ever told  (via dirtyovercoats)

The one time Castiel lied to Dean. And the two times he didn’t. ♥

This is the first time I analyze this gif set and the one to the left really breaks my heart. We know Dean had spent a year with Lisa and had completely retired from the hunting life. So although Cas saw Dean and even went to him for help, he didn’t want to bother him because he thought Dean was happy like that. Dean, who had not prayed to Cas anymore, who had not called him at all, who had decided to live as a civilian, did not need Castiel, was happy without Cas. OR SO CAS THOUGHT. Therefore, the first time Dean prayed to Cas in months, MONTHS, because he needed help, Cas was bitter. Of course he came because Dean called, but he didn’t need Dean to know that. He didn’t want Dean to know that he was always waiting for the moment when Dean would call him again. So what if Sam called? Dean was not calling. Dean had to be the one to call, so when he finally did, Cas went to him as soon as he called BUT tried to hide his desperation to be with him again and that’s how we got the: “You think I came because you called?”
